Took some pics in the old house when we are moving furniture and stuffs...

This used to be our dining area..

Kitchen.

The stairs that we used to climb up and down everyday without fail.

Where we used to hang our clothes.

Our old room....

Then, the new house!

Our new bedroom.

Cupboard and shelves.

Bathroom. Got bath tub eh.. Btw, at the right bottom corner is the head of Bruce! The one year kid....

Backyard where we hang our clothes.

Kitchen. The person in the pic is Sylvia's cousin mopping the floor.

Washing machine! That's the laundry area. The door leads to backyard.

Lastly,

The nephew of Sylvia, Bruce! Cute eh...
There's some progress this week. At least Bamboo is running on Cygwin with the help of Benjamin, a post grad of UQ introduced by supervisor, during the first few days of the week. Later in the week, he gave us a rough idea how to get started on how to write a java class using the put() and get () operations and in the meantime, he also briefed us on how DHT works. Many thanks to him! =)) Now, we are trying to solve some error in coding.....

Tuesday went to city and took some photos. hee. We wanted to take a picture of a building but unable to get the full pic and then this stranger who is soo helpful in helping us finding a good spot. Eventually, we managed to get some pics and took a pic with him too!

The guy in the middle is the one who helped us to find a good spot.

He doesn't like this photo i think and he asked the photographer(some stranger) to take again which becomes:

Erm. Difference?? I can't find any. Anyway, he went off after this photo and we were on our own. =))

We don't know what these 2 balls are doing in the street of the city but oh well...

Took some views on the bridge:

Oh yeah! Wednesday was a horse racing day for Aussie. They actually have an off day in Melbourne to watch the horses racing amongst themselves. But here in Brissy, aussies stil have to work but they took time off just to watch the horse racing on tv and chit chatting around. So in the city, there is an area where they can place their bets on.

There are lots of ppl in that area. We can only stand behind the crowd and took this pic. See the arrow pointing down and it says: 'Melbourne Cup' . Only managed to get us in the pic with the crowd. Haha!

Oh well, yesterday, which is Thursday, went grocery shoppping again. This time we bought PRAWNS and SQUID. Wahahaha. Wanted to buy ice cream but we don't think the ice cream can fit into the fridge though. =( Yeah, so we bought the usual stuff and we bought a choco for Benjamin as a small appreciation. But, he didn't go to UQ today so..... hmm...

Oh, Heroes Season 2 is on air now! Yay! At least there's something we can look forward to watch on tv...

Well, how should I start??

Hmm. We are currently stuck on the problem of running Bamboo on Windows. Argh. Well, Bamboo is the program that we are supposed to use to do our real implementation stuff and erm.. yeah. A problem that has been stuck and still at the moment can't solve it. It has been known that it can run on Linux and Windows yes, but we can't. =(
Anyway, I do feel we are getting closer to getting this Bamboo running on Windows and it's just that problem preventing us. ARGH.

Other than this, we have been reading up the books that we borrowed on Unix. Didn't really go out these days and it's getting really hot now. Really hot.

Ah. gotta go back to researching......

Ciaos!

19th October

We finally moved away from Carina to Eight Mile Plains. You can imagine the amount of noise when moving those furniture. We packed our luggage the night before and just waiting for the rest of the things that are needed to be moved, to be moved into the truck. Took almost the whole day though. =) Anyway, we are told that we are nearer to SunnyBank where you can see lots of Asians rather than local people. Even the shops nearby are selling chinese food!

20th October

We went to stock up on our groceries and finally bought some chinese food ingredients where you can't find it local super markets (i mean in aussie supermarkets). It ain't big and we actually have to squeeze to get through. Then, there was this Asian auntie telling us how to cook the frozen seafood dumpling that we have chosen. She's very friendly though but i was half listening to her. Hee. Anyway, there's another old man who spoke to us while we are queuing up at the cashier. He speaks little chinese and told us about what he does etc. Yeah... That's a very friendly encounter and oh, he gave syl his name card too! =))

22nd october

Went back to Garden City shopping mall to walk around. I bought 2 moisturizer which I think is not bad though. Made in aussie so it's cheaper and i don think i have seen it in singapore so probably buy a few more when doiing some last minute shopping. =)

Oh ya, those days that i've skipped are just slacking at home watching dvds. Yeah...

16th Oct (7th Day in Brisbane)

Nothing much except going back to UQ to mass print the info on openDHT. I was having trouble to print cuz the printer wasn't added to my computer and finally managed with the help of a China guy. Haha! Anyway, I totally couldn understand what's openDHT. Anyway, went back and as usual cooked dinner etc.

17th Oct(8th Day in Brisbane)

We went to visit the new house in Eight Mile Plains (currently staying at Carina). Spacious and it's one storey unlike the one we are currently staying which is 3-storeys. Waited for the pest control man to do his spraying of some chemicals around the house to prevents pest? Hmm. After that, went to stock up groceries at a nearby shopping mall for the next 2 days before we officially move house. =)) The mall is bigger than the one in Carina and not friendly too unlike the people in Carina. Jeez, what's wrong with these people??
Anyway, bought dinner home as well and erm... the pasta tasted much better than the one we cooked ourselves . Hee. Bathed and read up the info that we printed in school and this time I think i know what's going on about openDHT. Well, a little. After reading for the past hr, decided to go up and watched tv. This show called Numb3rs. It's NICE! Well, for me I do like it but not sure about Syl. =))

Yawns. Need to catch my beauty sleep! By the way, it's freaking cold every night!

11th Oct (2nd day in Brisbane)

Had a meeting with Dr. Portmann and briefed us and what we are supposed to do. We are to read up on openDHT which Syl and I have absolutely have no idea what is that. Well, he gave us a link to read up and told us that there is a book we can reference to too. Went to search to search for the book but it isn't in the main library. You see, there are 7 different libraries so we ended up lost finding that particular library called Physical and Sciences Library. =( Asked around and managed to find the library and off we went to borrow it. After which, we tried to find the bus stop to home but AGAIN, we were lost and it's already quite dark. Argh. Oh well, we asked around again and managed to find the bus stop finally...

Anyway, reached home and had dinner. Off to sleep. TIRING!

12th Oct (3rd day in Brisbane)

We didn't go UQ and off to the city instead. Contacted Carolyn (a friend introduced by my family friend) to meet us there so that she can bring us around. Me and Syl reached there first and it's pretty much feels like orchard road though. Oh well, can only window shopped cuz it's pretty expensive. Then met up with Carolyn and Cai xuan (a house mate of Carolyn) and we had korean food there. The food was nice and could see alot of asians there. Anyway, after dinner was just walking around though. They told us to shop after the christmas cuz that's when they got lotsa discounts. Hmm. Guess we will do some last minute shopping. =))

When we finally reached home which is around 10pm when we heard some ang-mohs in a car shouting like "....f***ing piece of shit!" We know that they were shouting directly at us and i thought i heard "ASIANS ....shit!" Syl was sooo angry and wanted to shout back but we head back to the house as quickly as we could cuz i was afraid they will run out of the car and chased or do something. =(( We were quite shocked and stunned though. That was supposed to be a happy night but spoilt these bunch of ang-mohs. Grrrrrrrrrr............

13th Oct (4th day in Brisbane)

Went to Red Cliffe and had FRESH seafood cuz Syl's cousin said there was a seafood festival. Well, it was near the waters and that explains the freshness of the seafood but 99% of the time we were fanning away flies. Lots of it. Argh. Think it's those summer flies. There were booths to play games but we didn't try out cuz it's pretty much similar to those in pasar malam. After eating, we went home.

14th Oct (5th day in Brisbane)

Well, we slacked at home and didn't go out for the whole day. So nth much to update. Just lazed around....

15th Oct (6th Day in Brisbane)

Headed to UQ to do some more research and read up the links that Dr. Portmann gave us. I had trouble understanding though. =( We wanted to get some novels to read but couldn't find and so we asked the librarian. Found out that they do not have much fiction books except literature which i think is a storybook to them. Oh my.. Was thinking if we can have something to read, we won't be this bored. =((

Hmm. Now it's 9:34pm, 15th October and the night falls so much quicker than in singapore. Argh. No night life here!
